Notarization basics
Who owns Integrity Records Solutions?
Integrity Records Solutions LLC is a woman-owned and veteran-owned family business in North Carolina. It is co-owned by Andrea Allen O'Neal, Founder and CEO, and Burnice L. O'Neal, retired from the U.S. Navy, and combines healthcare information management expertise, professional document services and the values of military service.
What does a notary public do?
A notary public is a state-commissioned official who verifies the identity of the person signing a document, confirms they are signing willingly and with understanding, and completes a notarial certificate with their signature and seal. In North Carolina, notaries are commissioned by the Department of the Secretary of State.
What do I need to bring to a notary appointment?
Bring the complete document, a current government-issued photo ID such as a driver licence or passport for every signer, and every person who needs to sign. Do not sign the document beforehand unless it was already signed for an acknowledgment.
Can a notary tell me which certificate I need or explain my document?
No. A notary who is not an attorney cannot give legal advice, choose the type of notarial act for you, or explain what a document means. The person or agency that asked for the document can tell you which notarization it needs.
Should I sign the document before the appointment?
Usually not. Many acts, including jurats, require you to sign in front of the notary. If you are unsure, leave it unsigned and bring it as it is.
Mobile appointments
Where can a mobile notary appointment take place?
Anywhere that suits you and allows a calm, private signing: your home, your office, a hospital room, a care or senior living facility, or a public place such as a library.
Is there a travel fee for a mobile notary?
Yes. Mobile appointments include a travel fee that depends on the location and timing. It is quoted and agreed before the appointment, never added afterwards.
Can you notarize for someone in a hospital or care facility?
Yes, as long as the signer is alert, can communicate, understands what they are signing and has acceptable identification. Let us know the facility and room when you book.
Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Evening and weekend times are often available on request. Choose your preferred time on the booking form and we will confirm what works.
Loan signings
What is a loan signing agent?
A loan signing agent is a notary who presents a mortgage, refinance or home equity loan package to the borrowers, makes sure every page is signed, initialled and dated, notarizes the documents that need it, and returns the package to the title or escrow company.
Can the signing agent explain my loan terms?
No. Questions about rates, fees or terms go to your lender or closing team, who can answer them properly. The signing agent makes sure the package is signed and notarized correctly.
Who books a loan signing?
Usually the title company, escrow officer, lender or a signing service books the signing agent. Borrowers are welcome to request Integrity Records Solutions by name.
Apostilles
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a certificate that authenticates a public document so it is accepted in another country that belongs to the Hague Apostille Convention.
Do you issue apostilles?
No notary issues apostilles. In North Carolina, apostilles for state documents are issued by the Department of the Secretary of State. Integrity Records Solutions facilitates the process: notarizing where needed, preparing the request, submitting it and returning the document to you.
How long does an apostille take?
It depends on the state's current processing time and how the document is sent and returned. We confirm the expected timing with you before you commit.
Fees and booking
How much does a notarization cost in North Carolina?
North Carolina sets the maximum fee a notary may charge for each notarial act. Travel for mobile appointments and any additional services, such as printing or apostille facilitation, are quoted separately and agreed before the appointment.
How do I book?
Use the booking page to choose the service, mobile or office, and your preferred date and time. You can also scan the QR code on our card or flyer. Every request is confirmed personally.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes. Let us know as early as you can. Late cancellations of mobile appointments may carry a travel charge, which is explained when you book.
Still have a question?
Send it over. We would rather answer a question before the appointment than reschedule after it.
